• Wash your hands. Before applying the Cosmoplast Sterile Large Dressing Pad, make sure to wash your hands with warm, soapy water to avoid infection.
• Prepare the wound. Use saline or soapy water to clean the wound of dirt, debris and infection-causing bacteria.
• Apply the dressing. Peel away the backing, and apply the dressing to the wound, using your clean fingers to stick it securely without touching the adhesive.
• Secure the dressing. Use tape or a bandage to secure the dressing and to prevent it from slipping off of the wound.
• Change dressing regularly. Change the dressing according to your doctor’s instructions. In general, dressings should be replaced every 24-48 hours. To remove the dressing, lift the edges gently and pull away slowly.
